(BIEJING, October 10) -- Mezciems Primary School in Latvia and Beijing Xiongzhi Middle School recently became official Heart-to-Heart sister schools.

Their relationship solidified when a delegation of students and teachers from Mezciems Primary paid a visit to the Heart-to-Heart program students at Beijing Xiongzhi.

To the visitors' delight, a painting that the two groups of students had worked on together during the 2007 Good Luck Beijing Heart-to-Heart summer camp was hanging in the Beijing Xiongzhi auditorium to greet the Mezciems delegation. The painting sparked conversations between the two groups of students as they reminisced about their experiences at camp.

At the welcoming ceremony, the local school's CCP branch secretary presented Mezciems' principle with the Heart-to-Heart Exchange Agreement to mark the official start of the partnership between the two schools.

Following the ceremony, the students enjoyed many activities to get to know one another. The students of both sister schools will benefit from an increased awareness of one another's culture through continued exchange.
